The Wisconsin football program added its 19th commitment to the 2025 class on Friday, as four-star WR Eugene Hilton Jr announced his commitment to UW.

Here’s a look at the newest addition to the 2025 class and what stands out.

Wisconsin Football Commit Eugene Hilton Jr: On the Recruiting Trail

According to the composite rankings, Hilton is the No. 395 player in the country, the No. 63 wide receiver, and the No. 7 in Indiana. He is the son of former NFL Pro Bowler T.Y. Hilton.

Tip of the cap to Matt Mitchell, Kenny Guiton, and all of the Badgers staff who had a hand in this recruitment: this is a massive win on the recruiting trail. UW beat offers from big-time programs, including Georgia, Miami, Ole Miss, Missouri, Kansas, Michigan, Arkansas, Cincinnati, and many others.

Georgia was seen as the leader in Hilton’s recruitment earlier this year, but after months of little movement, the four-star receiver made his way to Madison for an official visit and shut down his recruitment just a week later.

Hilton is now the second wide receiver commit in the 2025 cycle, joining Cameron Miller. He also becomes the Badgers’ first four-star receiver commit since Danny Davis in 2017.

Wisconsin Football Commit Eugene Hilton Jr: Scouting Report

In his junior campaign at Zionsville High School, the 6-foot-2, 195-pound receiver recorded 46 receptions for 836 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also served as a kick returner, logging 201 return yards.

Hilton will head to Madison as a great option on the boundary with the versatility to play at the slot. He has the straight-line speed to create plenty of separation from opposing corners, but he also has the crisp route-running ability and quick acceleration to be a difference-maker in the slot.

The Zionsville standout is slippery in the open field, showing an ability to stop on a dime and make guys miss. Utilize him in screen packages, and even if he does or doesn’t get the right block, he can still make a play by slipping away from contact.

Hilton already has a solid frame, but when he adds more to it, he will be a tough receiver to match up against. He already knows how to use his body to put himself in a good position during contested catch situations and has a lot of physicality in his game. If he gets bigger, watch out.

With his skillset, Hilton could definitely be someone who plays early. While the Badgers are loaded at the slot position, having a boundary wide receiver with the speed, route running, and hands Hilton has could get him into the mix in short order.

Overall, Wisconsin is getting a quick, elusive, sure-handed, and physical receiver with a lot of potential in Hilton. It can’t be overstated how big of a win this is for UW, and he could be one of the biggest impacts in this 2025 class if he taps into his potential.

With Hilton’s verbal pledge, the Wisconsin football program now holds 19 commitments in the 2025 cycle, which currently ranks as the No. 12 recruiting class in the country.
