Badgernotes started as nothing more than an X account—a way for me to talk Wisconsin Badgers football and basketball with like-minded fans who cared about the programs as much as I did.

What began as an outlet for my Badger fandom has since grown into something far bigger: a refreshing departure from traditional media that's become the leading independent source on the internet for Wisconsin Badgers coverage.

And this Substack best-selling Newsletter? It’s the heartbeat of it all.

Why subscribe?

So, what exactly is the Badgernotes Newsletter? It’s your one-stop shop for Wisconsin Badgers news, opinions, analysis, film breakdowns, mailbags, recruiting intel, and the occasional podcasts—all brought to you by a couple of guys with an internet connection.

With content delivered straight to your inbox, its intended purpose is to enhance your fan experience and bring you closer to the programs you love. Think of it as a direct line from me and my staff writers (who are far more talented than me)—who have the access—to you, the die-hard fan.

Whether it’s videos, podcasts, or written, we’ll tell you their stories. No editors, no deadlines. Just an honest, unfiltered conversation about Badgers football and basketball because, at the end of the day, we work for you—and we always will.

Who we are and why we’re here

And who am I? A lifelong Wisconsin Badgers fan from the hellfires of Token Creek, a former law enforcement officer turned marketer, blogger, and now someone who sort of moonlights as a journalist on the internet.

I’ve spent countless hours re-watching games, breaking down and analyzing data points, overthinking every detail, and turning it all into content about the Badgers—probably more time than any sane person reasonably should.

Along the way, my incoherent ramblings have been featured by USA Today's BadgersWire, Athlon Sports, Bleacher Report, and SB Nation's Bucky's 5th Quarter, among others, not to mention more podcasts than I can count.

What sets my content apart? It’s simple: a deep, unrelenting passion for the Badgers that combines the old-fashioned eye test with numbers to back up any opinions I choose to put out into the world. I try my best to break things down to their core while keeping it easy and entertaining to read—like your favorite teacher who made even the toughest of subjects click.

I also genuinely believe the newsletter model is the future of sports journalism, and Substack allows me to be the best version of my content-creating self, delivering my unfiltered thoughts straight to you, the reader. It also lets me focus on quality over quantity and go all-in on the deep dives and film study for the readers who appreciate that type of coverage.

It’s simple: Click below, subscribe for free, and start getting Wisconsin Badgers coverage delivered straight to your inbox.
