Wisconsin Football Program Might Be Nearing Another 2025 Commit
The Badgers are in a good spot to land the 3-star OLB from N.J.
The latest round of junior day visits to campus for Wisconsin Badgers head football coach Luke Fickell and his staff put them in a good position with a handful of top 2025 recruiting targets.
One target, in particular, the Badgers made a move on was three-star edge rusher Samuel Lateju from Lawrenceville, New Jersey, and might even be the team to beat in his recruitment.
“It was a wholesome experience,” Lateju told Badgernotes about his visit. “Madison has a lot to offer both academically and for football. The coaches are very welcoming and run a similar defense to what I’m used to.”

Notably, the Lawrenceville School High School standout was teammates with current Wisconsin football signee Raphael Dunn.
Wisconsin Football Well-Positioned to Land 3-Star OLB Samuel Lateju.
Recruiting insiders Nick Osen and Evan Flood of 247Sports have both placed crystal ball predictions for Samuel Lateju to land with the Wisconsin Badgers football program.
Although Colin Hitschler was the lead recruiter for Lateju, the Badgers coaching staff and Director of Player Personnel Max Stienecker have helped bridge that gap and even visited his school.
Lateju is considered the No. 66 EDGE in the 2025 recruiting class and the No. 24 player in New Jersey. He holds scholarship offers from Pitt, Duke, Syracuse, Wake Forest, Maryland, West Virginia, and Boston College.
Standing at 6-foot-5, 220 pounds, Lateju has the prototypical size and length you love to see from an outside backer. He does an excellent job setting the edge and making an impact in the run game.
When you consider the Wisconsin football team might only have one or two more open spots at outside linebacker in the 2025 recruiting class after the commitment of three-star LB Brenden Anes, Lateju might want to consider claiming his spot sooner rather than later.
