Wisconsin Badgers Football

It’s been a busy few days for the Wisconsin football program. Don’t worry; Badger Notes has you covered on all the latest UW news you may have missed.

Wisconsin football officially signs new TE coach

UW announced they have officially signed new tight ends coach Nate Letton on Friday.

The Badgers quickly filled the role after former tight ends coach Gino Guidugli left the program to become Notre Dame’s quarterbacks coach.

Letton became UW’s quality control coach after following Luke Fickell to Madison. He has experience as a tight end coach, holding the same position in 2022 at Cincinnati. In that position, Letton coached Josh Whyle, who earned First Team All-AAC recognition.

In Madison, Letton will oversee a group highlighted by Clay Cundiff and Hayden Rucci. Then, he’ll receive young reinforcements in Grant Stec and Rob Booker in 2024. If his time with the Bearcats is any indicator, the Badgers tight ends are in good hands.

Former Badgers are climbing the latest draft boards

Former Badgers Keeanu Benton and Joe Tippmann draft stocks are on the rise.

In Fox Sports’ latest NFL Draft rankings, Joe Tippmann came in as the 26th overall prospect in the class. Meanwhile, Keeanu Benton has continued to climb after a good showing in the Senior Bowl, as he is now ranked as the 33rd overall prospect.

Benton and Tippmann will attend the NFL Combine, starting on February 28th, where they’ll look to continue to raise their stock ahead of April’s draft.

Is Aaron Witt on the cusp of returning to the Wisconsin football program?

Aaron Witt, who has battled injury since his first year, seems to be returning to form.

UW strength coach Brady Collins tweeted out his Dudes of the Week, and Witt was among those who were given the honor.

The Minnesota native has missed the 2021 and 2022 seasons due to injury and seems on the cusp of returning to the team.

Witt played in five games in 2020, where he logged five tackles with two TFLs, one sack, and a forced fumble. No official updates are available about Witt’s status, but he looks to be getting back to work ahead of the 2023 season.
