Fourqurean previously committed to Vanderbilt just over a week ago, but Luke Fickell and company were able to flip him.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound corner logged 14 pass breakups and four interceptions in 2022. In his freshman year, the standout from Grand Valley State tallied 13 tackles and one pass breakup.
Fourqurean was the No. 538 player in the transfer portal and the No. 70 transfer cornerback. After entering the portal, the former All-American picked up offers from Tulane, Charlotte, James Madison, and Georgia Southern.
Fourqurean was an unheralded prospect coming out of high school. He was not ranked on any recruiting services and wasn’t extended any offers. However, with his standout play, he made a name for himself as a solid boundary cornerback.
Wisconsin was searching for secondary help in the portal due to the limited depth. Alexander Smith, Ricardo Hallman, and Jason Maitre filled out Wisconsin’s first unit, but behind them are inexperienced corners and true freshmen.
Fourqurean is Wisconsin’s 14th transfer addition. If he can replicate his play at Grand Valley State, he could be a great option on the outside.
