Madison, Wis. – The Wisconsin football program picked up another big win on the recruiting trail Friday afternoon when three-star cornerback Xavier Lucas out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, announced his commitment to the Badgers.

According to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite rankings, Lucas is the No. 772 player in the nation, the No. 82 safety, and the No. 108 player in Florida. 

Standing at 6 feet, 185 pounds, Lucas totaled more than 30 scholarship offers. Some notable programs to offer the American Heritage High School standout include Alabama, Florida State, Michigan, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Iowa, Texas A&M, and several others. 

Wisconsin Football Lands Commitment From 3-Star CB Xavier Lucas 

Xavier Lucas is now commitment No. 21 for head coach Luke Fickell in the 2024 recruiting cycle — bringing the Badgers national ranking up to No. 23 in the country. Lucas is now the third cornerback commit in the class, joining Jay Harper and Omillio Agard. 

It’s also worth noting that cornerbacks coach Paul Haynes acted as the lead recruiter for Lucas and pursued him to play CB for UW. He is yet another prime example of coach Fickell and his staff prioritizing taller, lanky defensive backs to develop in their system.
