Madison, Wis. — According to a report from Verbal Commits, Wisconsin basketball junior guard Jordan Davis has entered the transfer portal.

Davis played three seasons for the Badgers and averaged 5.1 points and 3.5 rebounds on 30% shooting from beyond the arc in 20.5 minutes per game this past season. He appeared in 75 career games, with 18 starts, all of which came during the 2022-23 season.

Per Barttorvik, Davis finished with a 106.2 ORTG and a 1.0 PRPG this past season, which was good for sixth on the team.

The 6-foot-4 guard saw a significant uptick in minutes as a junior and even began the season in the starting lineup for the Wisconsin basketball program but would eventually get replaced by Big Ten All-Freshman selection Connor Essegian in January.

“Just wanted to put this out here that it’s all love from this side,” Essegian said on social media. “Brodie took me in as his own and let me sleep on his couch when I first got to campus. Go be great fam.”

After watching his playing time dwindle down the stretch, Davis presumably saw the writing on the wall for next season. Because of that, he decided that entering the portal gave him the best shot at playing more minutes and making the most of his two remaining years of eligibility.

Davis, a La Crosse, Wisconsin, native, committed to UW alongside his twin brother, Johnny, as part of a five-man recruiting class in 2020 that included Ben Carlson, Steven Crowl, and Lorne Bowman.

Jordan Davis becomes the first Wisconsin basketball player to enter the transfer portal this off-season.
