The Wisconsin Badgers have secured a commitment from a 2023 three-star QB.

Dual-threat quarterback Cole LaCrue announced on Twitter that he will be committing to Wisconsin on Monday afternoon.

Wisconsin Badgers secure 2023 QB Cole LaCrue

The commitment from LaCrue comes just a week after the Badgers gave him an official offer. LaCrue has yet to make an official visit to Wisconsin, but the Badgers managed to land the three-star signal caller.

LaCrue is a senior at Broomfield High School in Colorado. The dual-threat quarterback led the Broomfield Eagles to a 10-0 regular season record. According to MaxPreps, he has thrown for 1,854 yards and 21 touchdowns in his senior year. Additionally, LaCrue has posted 627 rushing yards for 13 touchdowns.

According to the 247 Sports Composite, the 6-foot-2, 195-pound quarterback is the 15th-ranked player in Colorado. LaCrue is ranked in the top 100 quarterbacks in the 2023 class and the second-ranked QB in Colorado.

On November 2nd, LaCrue announced his top three schools. Wisconsin, Tulane, and Colorado all landed in the three-star QB’s top three. Just five days later, Wisconsin secured the commitment from the talented quarterback.

LaCrue’s commitment gives the Badgers a big boost in their quarterback room. Wisconsin now has Graham Mertz, Chase Wolf, and Myles Burkett, with LaCrue coming in 2023. It remains to be seen how the QB room will shake up with LaCrue coming to campus next year, but the Badgers have found themselves a strong talent at QB.

Wisconsin Football: Badgers Offer 2023 Three-Star QB

The Wisconsin Badgers have officially offered a three-star quarterback for the 2023 class.

Cole LaCrue, a quarterback out of Colorado, announced on Twitter that he was given an official offer from Wisconsin on Monday night.

Wisconsin Badgers Offer Cole LaCrue

LaCrue visited Wisconsin during the Washington State game on September 10th.  The offer from Wisconsin is LaCrue’s fifth, making the commitment a tough one for the Badgers. LaCrue secured offers from Colorado, Tulane, and Central Michigan. He also received two FCS offers from Northern Colorado and South Dakota.

LaCrue is an impressive quarterback in the 2023 class. He is ranked in the top 100 quarterbacks in the class. Additionally, he is the 19th-ranked player in Colorado, according to 247 Sports.

The senior quarterback has had a season to remember. He’s led the Eagles of Broomfield High School to a 10-0 record and looks to be one of the favorites to win a state championship. He has put up incredible numbers, passing for 1,854 yards and 21 touchdowns. LaCrue is a dual threat and can run effectively, posting 627 yards on the ground to go along with 13 touchdowns.

LaCrue has the tools to be an effective quarterback in multiple facets and would be a valuable addition to the program. If Wisconsin is looking for Graham Mertz’s potential successor, LaCrue could be the one.

The Badgers face a difficult challenge in attempting to pull LaCrue from his home state. With that in mind, his commitment will be one to keep an eye on.
