Wisconsin football flips 2025 Miami (OH) CB commit Cairo Skanes
The Wisconsin Badgers football team flipped a cornerback commit in the 2025 recruiting class ahead of National Signing Day.
The Wisconsin football program added to its 2025 recruiting class on Monday by flipping another prospect ahead of the early signing period.
Cairo Skanes, a standout cornerback from Providence Day School in Charlotte, North Carolina, has flipped his verbal commitment to play for Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin Badgers. He is rated as the No. 157 cornerback in the class and the No. 52 player in his home state, per On3.
Previously committed to Miami (Ohio) in June, Skanes racked up 25 total offers during his recruitment, including late Power 4 interest this fall from Duke, Michigan State, NC State, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
During Skanes senior season, the 6-foot-1, 180-pound defensive back recorded 83 total tackles, six interceptions, and five pass deflections en route to All-State recognition. You can watch his HUDL film here.
A three-star recruit, according to On3 and ESPN, Skanes took an official visit to Madison during the Nov. 16 weekend when Wisconsin hosted top-ranked Oregon—a game the Badgers lost 16-13 at Camp Randall.
