Wisconsin football offers 'all the right tools' for transfer QB Billy Edwards Jr.
Maryland transfer quarterback Billy Edwards Jr. opened up about why he decided to join the Wisconsin football program for his final season.
When Maryland quarterback Billy Edwards Jr. entered the transfer portal, he wasn’t just looking for a change of scenery in his final season of eligibility—he was seeking the right opportunity to succeed. Ultimately, Edwards felt that opportunity was with the Wisconsin Badgers.
For Edwards, Wisconsin’s history and tradition, paired with a system that complements his skill set, made the program an ideal fit. A significant draw was the opportunity to work with Luke Fickell and his coaching staff, whose vision for the offense resonated with the experienced signal-caller.
"When you think of the Big Ten, when you think of Wisconsin football, they have all the right tools in place," Edwards said. "A great offensive line, a great running ability, and an offense coordinator that plans on building everything else in the offense around that."
