I think the distinction is kind of meaningless. Bronson Koenig averaged 10 pts 2 rbd and 2 assists over his career and would probably be classified as a point guard. Blackwell is currently averaging more points assists and rebounds. So I guess I’d prefer a combo guard to a point guard.

Really don’t like JB at this position. He does not fit there with others more suited. He has struggle in my opinion.

I definitely view Blackwell as more of a combo guard than a point guard, but I think it works in the context of this offense. I would attribute the dip in three-point shooting to fewer spot-up attempts created for him, but as the seasons wore on, he's been getting better. Greg Gard had to find a way to get his best five on the court and mix and match his rotations in a way that made sense, and it has played out alright.

When I spoke to Kirk Penney before the season started, he didn't pay a lot of mind to having a "true point guard" running the show in this offense. It will be interesting to see if that's a theme that sticks in future seasons or if that's just what proved to be the best option right now.

I've noticed that at the end of almost all the games we have played that are close, McGee is the one at point. But JB is in there also with Klesmit. Also seems to me that JB is playing more at 2 than he is at 1 in total playing time. JB Rocks! Great player.
