Why Greg Gard restructured the Wisconsin men's basketball coaching staff
The Badgers made a flurry of changes to their coaching staff this offseason.
The Wisconsin Badgers basketball program made some notable changes to the makeup of its coaching staff during the offseason.
Head coach Greg Gard chose to move on from assistant coach Dean Oliver, who spent seven seasons with the Badgers. In his place, Gard added Lance Randall, who previously led the Division II program at St. Leo and is also a Wisconsin native, to fill the assistant coach opening.
"He's done a little bit of everything everywhere. There's not anything that happens or comes up in our meeting that he hasn't been there done that," Gard said of Randall. "It's the wealth of knowledge and experience that he has brought to the table and the connections he has. The insight, just through experience, has been really remarkable to watch. I knew he'd be good, I didn't realize he'd be this good."
