Madison, Wis. -- Wisconsin football and position coach Devon Spalding had running back Darrion Dupree from Chicago, Illinois, at the top of their board for the 2024 recruiting class, and now, the Badgers have locked up their top target.
On Friday, the four-star recruit from Mount Carmel High School announced his commitment to the University of Wisconsin over offers from Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Rutgers, Washington, and several other Power 5 programs.
According to the industry-generated composite rankings, Dupree is the No. 366 recruit in the 2024 class, the No. 32 running back, and the No. 8 prospect to hail from Illinois.
"It's a running back school," Dupree said. "Can't go wrong with that. The offensive line they always have a good offensive line. Then coach Fickell overall; I just know he'll develop me as a person."
