Former NFL Head Coach to Be “Involved” With Wisconsin Football Program
The Badgers will have a former NFL head coach in Madison this spring.
Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin Badgers football program might become beneficiaries of an odd NFL head coaching carousel.
After getting fired by the Tennessee Titans, Mike Vrabel, to the surprise of many, didn't land another head coaching job this offseason.
Even more perplexing is the possibility that Vrabel might not even secure a defensive coordinator position, adding uncertainty to his immediate future.
Fortunately for the Badgers, Coach Fickell and Vrabel are close friends, former teammates, and college roommates. By all accounts, that long-standing relationship will benefit the Wisconsin football team this spring.
Mike Vrabel Will Be Involved With the Badgers
On Wilde and Tausch, Wisconsin Badgers head coach Luke Fickell shared that former Tennessee Titans Head Coach Mike Vrabel will be in Madison for spring practices and "involved" with the football team.
“I talked to him, I think on Saturday and we hadn’t communicated for probably a week or so just as the process was going,” Fickell said. “And he sounded like a new man.
“I'm not sure what the future really looks like, but I know that we're going to have a visitor here that's gonna spend a little bit of time, hopefully, around us coming up in the spring. See how deep we can get involved here."
