Wisconsin Football: Jim Leonhard Named The Grit Factory Worker of the Week

After the impressive debut of coach Jim Leonhard on Saturday. It was announced that he won the Grit Factory Worker of the Week. The Grit Factory’s official Twitter had this to say about coach Leonhard.

“The boys and staff had been through a storm this week. Life tends to throw things at you that are out of your control, and you’re given a choice on how to respond. The only way to handle such a week was to come together, and in a tough predicament, someone had to rally the troops. Coach Leonhard found a way to make a hard situation into a big win in Evanston this weekend. The first of many for the man the boys would go to war for. Jimmy Leonhard was born in The Grit Factory.”

What was probably one of the most challenging weeks in the program’s history, with the firing of coach Paul Chryst. Jim Leonhard had to take over and rally the troops to bounce back against Northwestern. Not to mention, Evanston is one of the worst places for Badger football to play in recent memory.

Not only did coach Leonhard come with a solid game plan, but the Badgers also played inspired football for what feels like the first time this season and dismantled Northwestern 42-7. How could this award go to anyone other than coach Jimmy Leonhard?

Leonhard Here to Stay?

I think it’s safe to say that Jim Leonhard is here to stay for the Wisconsin Badger football program. A fresh new face for the program will hopefully take recruitment to the next level. While also bringing some much-needed passion and emotion to the sideline.
